We take pride in welcoming our guests to "La Esquina del Lago", our comfortable and well-maintained Fishing Lodge situated at the corner of Lake with Rio San Juan in the Wildlife Reserve of Los Guatuzo. We know how important it is to choose the right lodging during your fishing vacation, which is why we offer several options, including other hotels on the river and lakeshores in Saballo, Solentiname Archipelago, and El Castillo.

At La Esquina del Lago, we are dedicated to offering our guests a memorable experience. Our lodge is situated in an area perfect for exploring nature, including wildlife, bird watching, and historical sites. We are proud to have integrated the local lifestyle into our offerings, and the locals are friendly and welcoming to tourists.
At our lodge, you will find a very different experience from other fishing resorts offered in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. We want to be your vacation headquarters, and we encourage you to move in an approximately 100-mile radius to chase the prime fishing zones. While traveling, you are always welcome to sleep at other hotels during your fishing expeditions. Additionally, between August and November, we sometimes travel to the Caribbean Sea, which is another 120 miles away down the Rio San Juan.
We offer many interesting features to our travelers, including tropical jungle life, adventures, history, discovery, and contact with the local indigenous people. It has always been important to us that we provide the best quality lodging and meals we can offer. We take pride in the fact that we've integrated the local life, so we eat on the river banks at Rancho or the homes of our friends. We also will often go into town or the market.
Nicaragua has become a safer and quieter country, but most importantly, it is still an authentic destination. We are excited that the country has opened up and welcomed so many more tourists. We want to assure you that we meet all of our guests at the International airport of San Jose or Managua, and we recommend using one of our all-inclusive Discovery & Fishing Packages for your stay.
